
Maria F. Messing, DDS, MSD
Originally from Mexico City, Dr. Maria Messing began her dental career at UNITEC School of Dentistry, earning her dental degree in 2006. She practiced general dentistry in private practice for several years before discovering her deep interest in Endodontics. This passion ultimately brought her to Houston, where she pursued advanced specialty training.
Dr. Messing completed a Preceptorship in Endodontics at the University of Texas School of Dentistry at Houston, followed by acceptance into their highly regarded Endodontic Residency Program. In 2016, she earned her Master of Science in Dentistry with a focus in Endodontics.
While in residency, Dr. Messing demonstrated a strong commitment to academic research. She earned First Place honors at the American Association of Endodontists (AAE) Annual Session for her Table Clinic presentation and later received an AAE research grant for her Master’s thesis, which explored links between endodontic pathology and cardiovascular disease using both epidemiological and genetic data. Her work gained further recognition through multiple national awards, including Best Clinical Research Paper of 2019 by the Journal of Endodontics, where her research was published.
Dr. Messing is Board-Eligible with the American Board of Endodontics and remains actively involved in the professional community as a member of the AAE, the American Dental Association, the Texas Dental Association, and the Greater Houston Dental Society.
Outside the operatory, Dr. Messing is a devoted mother of two. She enjoys exploring new destinations with her family, discovering different cuisines, and engaging with topics related to wellness, parenting, spirituality, and animal life. The ocean is her happy place, and she finds joy in reading and personal growth.
